Their Prophecies
As you probably have already noted, this page is meant
to be simple and at the same time, a bit dramatic.
* Simple in that there is no
cute or pretty background color - only the blackness of evil.
* Dramatic in the sense of seeing
things in black and white - not shades of gray !!!
WHY?
"Let what you say be simply 'Yes' or 'No'; anything more than this comes
from evil."
Matthew 5:37 (sermon on the mount) Revised
Standard Version 1946-1952 NT
"Just let your word Yes mean Yes, your
No, No; for what is in excess of these is from the wicked one."
Matthew 5:37 The New World Translation of 1984
Jesus did not want us to deal in shades of gray did he?
Anything less than the simple, whole truth, is not a good or affective
witness. Both our Bibles, and the NWT say this, so if they
can agree here, they should also agree in their entirety. At least
one would think so, wouldn't one? Let's go a step farther now, by
investigating what we can read about those who claim to be a prophet:
"I will raise up for them a prophet like you
from among their brethren; and I will put my words in he mouth, and he
shall speak to them all that I command him. And whoever will not
give heed to my words which he shall speak in my name, I myself will require
it of him. But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name
which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other
gods, that same prophet shall die. And if you say in your heart, 'How may
we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?' -- when a prophet speaks
in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true,
that is a word which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it
presumptuously, you need not be afraid of him."
Deuteronomy 18:18-22 RSV
"A prophet I shall rise upfor them from the
midst of their brothers; like you; and I shall indeed put my words in his
mouth, and he will certainly speak to them all that I shall command him.
And it must occur that the man who will not listen to my words tat he shall
speak in my name, I shall myself require an account from him. However,
the prophet who presumes to speak or who speaks in the name of other gods,
that prophet must die. And in case you should say in your hearts:
"How shall we know the word that Jehovah has not spoken?" when the
prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word does not occur or come
true, that is the word that Jehovah did not speak. With presumptiveness
that prophet spoke it. You must not get frightened at him."
Deuteronomy 18:18-22 NWT
Once again we can see that in both cases, the scenario and basic
teaching is the same. There is a test by which we can tell if a person
is a true prophet, and those who are not, are deserving of a death sentence.
We should not be afraid of them, for they have lied. The challenge
here, is for the Watch Tower messenger to prove that they have ever
had a legitimate prophet. The fact is, we can prove the direct
opposite. And, their Bible cannot refute ours in any way either.
Here then we can pose two very legitimate questions:
1. Why should we accept your Bible as the only valid one, when
these texts are the same, regarding false prophets?
2.Why should we accept the teaching or works of those who insist
upon following the teachings of the very leaders who are proven"false prophets?"
Now you have had the opportunity to apply some extra knowledge and
perhaps methodology to your dealings when confronted by that "knock" on
your door. God willing, you will take some time to be a wittness
for Jesus and his truth, to these brow beaten, programed cultists, who
are in such dire need of salvaton. I understand that you may not
like them - perhaps even to the point of hate - but please remember that
they also have the right and need to learn the impact of a closeing verse
of this page:
"Jesus said to the Jews who believed in him, "If you continue
in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and
the truth will make you free." John 8:31,32 RSV
"And so Jesus went on to say to the Jews that believed him:
"If you remain in my word, you are really my disciples, and you will know
the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:31,32 NWT
