All gods?

Joseph Smith once said: "As man is, God once was; as God is, man can become."  Does this have a familiar ring?  Take a quick look if you will, at the Scripture below:

Isaiah 14:13  For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

The Scripture above is the reason that Satan (Lucifer) was cast out of heaven in the first place.  Now let's look at another Scripture:

Exodus 34:14  For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:

We need another reality check, don't we?  Let's look at some more Scripture...

Isaiah 43:10  Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

Exodus 20:3  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

What is arising is conflict upon conflict.  There can be no conciliatory commentary between Joseph Smith's allegation,  and what the Bible clearly shows to be the actual fact.  God, in sovereignty, is not about to need a sharing of authority or stature.  Never, ever, in the scriptures do we see where God has been anything but God.

Human depravity has and still does attempt to find an equality with the Creator, but never will the separation between creator and creature be overcome, save that an overt act of God were to take place.  What am I saying?  Please carefully follow along.

In any instance of melding God with humanity, a sharp distinction is always in existence.  See first of all, the predominant instance of anything resembling a Godman situation.

Joh 1:1 ¶ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Here we are introduced to the only true Godman recorded in the scriptures.  that is to say, Jesus had the full embodiment of God and Human Being.  We must be quick to remind ourselves that we are witnessing the miraculous, rather than any sort of a "norm."  Any other conception is false.  As we continue to study and avail ourselves of the Bible's truth, we see that any other humans that have ever lived, and been empowered by God to do His work on earth, are indwelled with the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit.  This is first evident in the Old Testament, and then, on a much broader scale, repeated in the New Testament.

How then, can anyone have the audacity to make such a statement as that made by Smith?  There is only one way it can occur, that being the evil influence of the "Father of Lies."

 Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Yes, it would be most flattering to many, to consider themselves as gods.  To be the master of one's own soul and fate, can have a strong allure.  But consider also, how foolish it is to engage in such psycho melodrama.  At the foot of the Secular Humanist's teacher, resides the Atheist's Doctrine.  The teaching is that we are own own god, or whatever entity we would like to become.  We are answerable to no one and that all other humans have the same right.  How then, could a person at some future time, command an authority over anyone else?  Common sense becomes a delusion at this point does it not?

So what do we have?  An heretical, mystical doctrine of foolishness.  Think and pray it through.  If there is no God, how can a person suddenly become one.  If there is a GOd, and He is a the only God, how can we become what already exists?  And, in closing, please remember a final scripture ---

 Ex 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
