God Meets Her Every Need As She Evangelizes On Bus
| In late May I enjoyed having
Jackie Sansbury visit in my
home for a few days. Jackie
and I had been saved within a
short time of each other back
in November of 1969 and had
been very close since then.
We had learned how to
witness together - knocking
on doors. When Jackie left
Darlington, I missed her. It
was marvelous seeing her
again. Here is her testimony
of what she has do ne since
leaving Darlington:
I began my walk with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in Darlington in 1969. My precious sisters and brothers in Christ have meant very much to me over the years, and this week back in Darlington has been a wonderful one. I have talked almost non-stop with Mary Anne and others about the goodness of the Lord to me since l left Darlington. l went from Darlington in the latter part of 1981 to my family in High Point, North Carolina. Soon, l was meeting children of God there and we were working together in the kingdom. One incident stands out. My sister-in-law and I had been baking bread. I came home about 11 o'clock that night with my five loaves. The Spirit bade me give a loaf to a young woman in the condo across from us. I did it, even though the hour was late. Sometime afterward, she confessed to me that the bread was ail she had to eat for a few days. In l986 the Lord led me to a mission in Virginia. I was blessed to work with other Christians in a hotel where |
me that for about the same
length of time I had been
enjoying knowing God, she
had been having mental
problems.) She heard voices,
voices. She came to the Lord,
was baptized, and became
much better. No more
hospitals for a while.
September 1, 1987. The Lord sent me to ride on Greyhound busses as an evangelist. I allow Him to tell me which bus to board and to whom l am to witness. I usually buy an Ameri-pass for the Greyhound bus. This pass allows me to ride on the bus for a certain length of time and go anywhere the Lord leads me to go. I am "In the highways." God has graciously met all my needs - physical, material, and spiritual - in such fun ways. In San Antonio, Texas, I became acquainted with some street people who hung out at McDonald's. .They bathed, shaved, and socialized for a time there. Later, when I was back in San Antonio walking near the river, someone spoke to me. It was one of these poor men. l asked could 1 buy him breakfast. He told me that they could not go to McDonald's any more; so we went to Wendy's. He told me about the disturbing things going on inside of him. God cared enough for him to send someone to pray for him. Later, I ate by the river and testified to someone about this wonderful life in Jesus. When I left, a young woman came running after me. She handed me a ten dollar bill and let me know that it was an unusual act for her to give |
ly carry big safety pins around
with me on the bus, but I
found one on the steps of the
next bus 1 boarded, and my
need was met
Thinking about going to Rock Church the next morning, I remembered that at church they usually take food to the altar on Sundays to give to the poor. I knew I wouldn't be near a grocery store to shop; but in a few minutes, I saw a large can of pineapple - just roiling around on the floor of the bus! I pick-ed it up and had something to take to church to give. I could go on and on testifying of God's providence for me, but I am not writing a book here. I never know what I will be doing - feeding the hungry. or being fed; clothing the naked. or being clothed; giving a place to sleep, or being sheltered - but God provides for it all. Since I am living this life in God's provision, it is easy to tell people about Jesus. It is easy to pray for healings, or for family members. or for financial needs. I appreciate the calling God has placed upon my life, and I want to be faithful to Him. I know that apart from Him I can do nothing. If you have not yet come to Jesus Christ for forgiveness o( your sins, I urge you to do so. If you have not received the
Holy Ghost, I urge you to
receive Him. |
