Subject: Abortion - facts and feelings

From: David E Brollier (21 Apr 1998)

There was once a time when abortion was frowned upon in much the same way adultery was frowned upon by our founding fathers. Yet, women continued to either continue in promiscuity or were "seduced" by young men who had only one thing on their minds, and it didn't include fatherhood. At one point this was so bad that women were getting killed in back alleys and dark rooms where illegal abortions were performed. It wasn't the baby they were trying to get rid of, but their stigmatism and their guilt which was attached to their actions. This lead to death or unfathomable guilt.

In 1973 the U. S. Supreme Court heard and decided upon a class action suit called, "Roe vs. Wade." The immediate result was that women were now allowed to legally have abortions. Interestingly enough the case was hinged upon a single phrase, "all persons born." In other words, it was argued, the rights which the United States Constitution claimed was the right of all "men" only included those persons who were actually born. So while you and I might enjoy rights of protection, rights to live, rights to actually enjoy life, did not come into affect until we were born. It was a play on words, the lawyers knew it, the judges knew it, but it was accepted anyway.

In its wake came several things. First was the federal funding of abortions to those who were poor. Then came a sweeping change in sex education classes in our public schools, which one former Planned Parenthood member, stated that they knew going into the classroom that just by speaking they would be raising the pregnancies by at least 50%, but it would most likely triple. They bravely moved forward with their sex education convincing the public that education was the way to stop unwanted pregnancies. They lied.

In opposition to this came a growing number of people that considered abortion to be equal to murder. Initially letters were sent to key politicians telling them of their stance. In vain they tried to stop the mass slaying of our children. Yet these groups grew and became varied in their techniques and approaches. I personally believe that this is an issue that has to be fought one on one. Mass campaigns and protests will not be as effective as people confronting people, but I understand them and wish them well. There are other groups who have been frustrated into violent actions such as bombings. This serves no purpose other than the abortionists. The public doesn't see the bloody rooms filled with death. They don't see children burned or torn apart just prior to their birth. What they see, however, is the effects of a bombs blast, the "victims" who have survived such violence.

Now while I do not advocate violence as a solution let's take a look at this. Since 1973 38 million children were murdered simply because they were not yet born and their mothers did not wish them to live. 38 million children never had a chance to see the sun or hear a song or say "I love you." 38 million children were killed and we did not see it. Yet the minute someone blows up an abortion clinic the news crews are their so we can have pictures for our 10 o'clock news. Somebody out there do the math. How many children, unborn children, were murdered in one day? And, if, just possibly, a group came and bombed a clinic and by chance one person died where is the greater violence? But we don't look at things that way do we?

Another group, less militant, would hold "prayer-ins" in which they would pray in front of abortion clinics. People would have to come and drag them away. They didn't resist, but neither did they voluntarily get up and leave. They were "standing in the gap" of a large breach in the walls that protect our freedoms and our lives. For this they endured persecution and imprisonment. They were tried under the federal RICO (Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations). This is totally absurd. But it is to be expected from people who believe that your daughters have to gain your permission to receive aspirin from the school nurse, but NOT if they want to have surgery and have a fetus removed from their womb. Parental consent nor even notification is necessary. How many of our young girls have died because they have been treated as a number and the abortion was done improperly? Do they even know how dangerous this "procedure" can be to them if it's not done properly? We will never know the answers to these questions because they are hidden from the public.

Now suppose we were to hide the bomber's actions from the public. The act would never make the news and no pictures would be taken. Yet we started covering abortions with live footage to be shown on the evening news. We started stating how many of these children were killed today. Which way do you think the public opinion would sway then?

On Angel's Wings

On angel's wings we seek to fly,

When most times we want to cry.

Oh to feel the wind upon one's face,

to soar beneath the Sun,

Yet to receive God's eternal grace

we must see the tears of His only Son.

And now do I without hardship or pain

fly softly now in the skies above,

enjoying more that I thought to gain

when first I received His love.

WAIT !!! a personal word to you.

Bro Karl I just had to write this piece, but didn't know who to send it to. Then as I was browsing down my address book I saw your name. If you can use this, even by forwarding it to others if that's the most that you can do, then these words will have served their purpose. I just got really upset today reading about how abortion protestors were found guilty of "violence" and of "extortion" by a federal grand jury. This upside down, from the depths of Hell, kind of thinking really makes me sick. I had to speak out. Thanks for giving me a little bit of a voice.
