MALACHI Verse 16

Rev. would you please explain to me Malachi Chpt. 3 verse 16. Please Many thanks sir,

13 ¶ Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken so much against thee? 14 Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts? 15 And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered. 16 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. 17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. 18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.KJV
13 ¶ Your words have been strong against me, says the Lord. And still you say, What have we said against you? 14 You have said, It is no use worshipping God: what profit have we had from keeping his orders, and going in clothing of sorrow before the Lord of armies? 15 And now to us the men of pride seem happy; yes, the evil-doers are doing well; they put God to the test and are safe. 16 Then those in whom was the fear of the Lord had talk together: and the Lord gave ear, and it was recorded in a book to be kept in mind before him, for those who had the fear of the Lord and gave thought to his name. 17 And they will be mine, says the Lord, in the day when I make them my special property; and I will have mercy on them as a man has mercy on his son who is his servant. 18 Then you will again see how the upright man is different from the sinner, and the servant of God from him who is not.(BBE)
Let us first read the entire context of the verse you would like to have explained in both the KJV and Bible in Basic English. In this way you can better understand.
What is being addressed you see, is the controversy that exists amongst those who believe in God and their adversaries who do not. Those who are believers discuss these differences and decide to keep a record of what is taking place - namely The Book of Remembrances." In this way, they can document how God is dealing with both the believers and the carnal people, who are living a co-existence.
We know now, the The Holy Scriptures do exactly that, by giving us a detailed historical account of those who live both Godly and un-Godly lives. The Bible, as I had begun to teach some time ago is such a record.
Hence, we have the following:
2 Tim:2
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness
2 Tim.3
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Also to be kept in mind is:
Re 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
We are not told the names of all the books, but I would suggest that some may be The Book of Deeds,The Book of Thoughts, The Book of Secret Thoughts and Deeds,The Book of Remembrances, The Book of Choices. But do remember that this is conjecture on my part, and we will not know until it is revealed to us at the judgement seat.
God bless you and yours.
In His service,
Bro Karl
