Adorning the cover of The Book of Mormon and also the top of the temple in Utah, is the icon supreme of the LDS Church's version of alleged Christianity. That is to say, rather than utilizing an architectural norm of a cross as its symbol, a statue of an angel is there. The angel's name is Moroni.
Shall we take a moment to check with the KJV or the Bible once again to see if there is some justification for this?
Let us deal first, with the O.T. Commandments and statutes:
Exodus 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Leviticus 26:1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.
Leviticus 26:30 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.
Deuteronomy 4:16 Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
I think this is quite clear for anyone to see. It is also the reason that many well established Church's refrain from any images including crosses, to be a part of their structures or decor.
God does not take kindly to the adorning icons many people try to justify. Why? Because our meditations are to be directed to God, not an icon or other intermediary. See the scriptures below.
1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
John 15:26 ¶ But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
Once again, we see the triunity of God, as Father, who sent His son, who now has sent The Holy Spirit. No one needs or should seek help beyond this. We have a need and a responsibility to pray. And if you care to have an additional proof text, please note this one:
John 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
So who are the angels?
First let us answer who the angels are according to the Bible. We shall use Strong's numbers to do this, so that you'll have the accuracy and documentation you need.
04397 mal'ak {mal-awk'}
from an unused root meaning to despatch as a deputy; TWOT - 1068a; n m
AV - angel 111, messenger 98, ambassadors 4, variant 1; 214
1) messenger, representative
1a) messenger
1b) angel

Let us now see if they are numerous --
Matthew 26:53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
03 legeon {leg-eh-ohn'}
of Latin origin; TDNT - 4:68,505; n f
AV - legion 4; 4
1) a legion, a body of soldiers whose number differed at different times, and in the time of Augustus seems to have consisted of 6826 men (i.e. 6100 foot soldiers, and 726 horsemen)
Revelation 5:11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
Do the math friends, and I think you will agree that these are most impressive numbers. "But is that all of them?" We simply don't know becasue we are not told.
In concluding this section, we must address the matter of names of angels. And here I will challenge you a bit. How many can you name from memory? Now look in your Bible? Stumped you are???
