In Memoriam

Our beloved missionary brother Grandpa Theodore

An Arizona State Highway Patrol officer said the accident occurred at 3:30 a.m. this morning approximately 20 miles from Sierra Vista. When he arrived on the scene there were already several other police officers and Border Patrol Officers there, along with a fire truck, ambulance, helicopter. He said the driver told him that she thought she saw either a dog or a coyote in the middle of the road so she swerved to miss it and as she swerved she lost complete control of the van. The van left the road and ran down an embankment and part way up a hill and then rolled back down the hill a little bit.

The van rolled one and a half times, it's still unclear if Grandpa Ted was wearing a seat belt. He was thrown out of the van and landed 10 to 15 ft beyond the van. The Officer said that when he went to uncle Ted, there were no obvious injuries externally and that all of his injuries were probably internal.

He said Grandpa Ted was still alive when he went to him but he couldn't talk. They put him in the ambulance and Grandpa Ted died shortly after that. He said it looks like it was just a very unfortunate accident and he gives all of us his condolences.

So ends the mission work of a man who dedicated his life to giving, serving and prayer.

We will miss Grandpa, but know that his 40 years in missions 30 of which he was my partner guide and dear friend, will always be remembered.

So ends the report we received from Rev. Robert Watts, our missionary brother and friend of nearly 15 years.  May a multitude or prayers rise for all concerned, knowing and accepting God’s will.  Rest in peace Grandpa.
